Newcomerstown Middle School will be holding Open House on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 6:30-7:30 P.M.
The first day of school for students will be August 26th.

Schedule pick-ups will be held on the following dates:

8th Grade - Tuesday, August 18
7th Grade - Wednesday, August 19
6th Grade - Thursday, August 20

Supply lists may be viewed on our webpage under the Newsletter link, or may be picked up in our office. Lists will also be available at the following businesses:

Medi-Wise Pharmacy, Family Dollar, Dollar General (Nct. & West Lafayette), Morgan Pharmacy, Baker's IGA, Wal-Mart (Coshocton & New Philadelphia), Buehler's (Coshocton, Dover & New Philadelphia), Staples and Drug Mart (both New Philadelphia).

2009-2010 East School Supply Lists

Kindergarten:

(Mrs. Prysi's and Mrs. Darr's Classes)

24 Count box of CRAYOLA crayons

2-(4 oz.) bottles of ELMER'S school glue

Back Pack

Package of paper towels

2 large boxes of tissues

Paint shirt

School Supply Fee

Scissors and pencils are provided. Please put child's name on all items. No school boxes are needed.

ALSO NEEDED FOR ART CLASS: Each student in Mrs. Darr's Class and Mrs. Prysi's Class needs to bring 2 SHARPIE black markers.

(Mr. Mayse's Class and Miss Stewart's Class:)

24 count box of CRAYOLA crayons

1-(4 oz.) bottle of ELMER'S school glue

Back Pack

2 large boxes of tissues

ALSO NEEDED FOR ART CLASS: Each student in Mr. Mayse's class needs to bring a box of Kleenex.  Each student in Miss Stewart's class needs to bring a box of wipes.

First Grade:

2-(4 oz.) bottles of ELMER'S school glue

Back Pack

Erasers

5 pencils, sharpened if possible

Box of tissues

Roll of paper towels

Spiral notebook (Mrs. Taggart's class only)

Scissors are provided. Please put child's name on all items. No school boxes are needed.

ALSO NEEDED FOR ART CLASS: Each student in Mrs. Kellish's  class and Mrs. Taggart's class needs to bring 1 extra (4 oz.) bottle of ELMER'S glue.  Each student in Miss Ellis's class and Mrs. Little's class needs to bring 1 (24 count) box of CRAYOLA crayons.

Dollars for Scholars applications for past graduates enrolled in post-secondary schools with a 3.0 grade point average can apply for a scholarship.  The application is available on this website.  Got to the search box and type in "Dollars for Scholars" .  This will take you to the page with the scholarship application.  Note--there are two applications listed on the page.  Make sure you select the one for post-graduates.  You can download the application and fill it in on your computer.  You can turn in the application at the high school guidance office or Bambeck Accounting at 830 W. State St.  You can also fax the application to the high school at 740-498-4994 to the attention of Melissa Cork, guidance counselor.

The deadline for applications is June 15.  Applications must be accompanied by an official transcript (not a photocopy) from the institution.

The Ohio Department of Health and Local Health Departments are working with health care providers and hospitals around the state to determine if there are other cases of swine flu.  As of today, April 28, 2009, there has been 1 confirmed case in the state.  According to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  (CDC), all health care providers who see patients with flu-like symptoms and learn that the patient traveled to Mexico, affected counties in Southern California or Texas during the 7 days preceding their illness onset, should have nasal swab samples from the patient tested.
