Welcome to Newcomerstown Middle School

Welcome to Newcomerstown Middle School!  Our building has been rated as "Effective" by the Ohio Department of Education.  In addition to our Effective rating, our school received a performance index score of 91.0% and an attendance rating of 94.2%.  We have a staff that is 100% Highly Qualified according to the O.D.E. ,who are constantly making strides towards excellence in the classroom.

This may prove to be a landmark year for N.M.S. with the receipt and implementation of a $246,000 technology grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  Newcomerstown Middle School was the only school in our surrounding area to receive this award.  Also this year, the Middle School will also be installing new seating in the auditorium.  This is due to a grant awarded to our school by the Reeve's Foundation of Tuscarawas County.

As you can see, good things are happening at N.M.S. that staff, parents and community members alike should take great pride in.

NO PARKING ZONE PDF Print E-mail

Parents,

We ask that you please obey the law and refrain from parking in the NO PARKING ZONE in front of the school, from the traffic light to the alley beside the school.  Officers will be patrolling the area and ticketing offenders if necessary. The safety of our students and other motorists has become a huge concern, especially after school, when buses are trying to get through and students are trying to cross the street at the crosswalk.  We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
