Kindergarten Registration

NEWCOMERSTOWN SCHOOLS KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION APRIL 15th and 16th ST. PAULS LUTHERAN CHURCH SOUTH COLLEGE STREET – NEXT TO EAST SCHOOL
APRIL 15th - 8:30 – 12:00 and 1:00 - 5:30 p.m. APRIL 16th - 8:30 – 11:30
Children must be 5 years old on or before August 1st 2010. It is most important that all children who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall come to registration. The child will be given a speech and hearing test, Brigance test, and vision screening. Parents must bring immunization records, birth certificate, social security card, and in the case of a separation or divorce, parents must bring proof of custody. Registration will take some time so plan to bring your child when you have extra time.
It is our suggestion that you make registration a special day for your child. Parents sometimes fix the child’s favorite meal that day, purchase a lunch box or take the child out for ice cream. This year all children who attend registration will be given crayons, scissors, a pencil, and glue stick for use at home. Parents will be given a Kindergarten Handbook and many suggestions to use to help children best prepare for entering school.
If you have any questions about registration, please call the East School Office at 498-6601.

Learning about Safety!

What a great day! The children learned about good choices and safety with a presentation in the gymnasium. A ventriloquist presented exciting information while using "magic!"
Chief Kennedy came to help and a child was chosen to assist with the presentation. Great job, Hunter!! =)
