Student-Athletes Involved in Community Service PDF Print E-mail

Newcomerstown Student-athletes, coaches, parents, and other volunteers participated in community service projects to help kick-off the fall sports season.  Members of the football, cross country, golf, and cheerleading teams worked to clean up several abandoned properties around town.  Meanwhile, members of the volleyball team volunteered to help prepare and serve the free community meal provided each week at the Christ United Methodist Church.  Thew Newcomerstown Athletic Department would like to thank Mayor Steve Guy and Rev. Russ Ham for helping us coordinate the community service projects.  The Community Service Day is a new initiative of the athletic department.  At the start of each sports season, the student-athletes will take time to perform community service work.  It's our way of saying thanks for the great support the community provides the student-athletes of Newcomerstown.
