Mrs. Arlene Mayhew recognized for her service on the Newcomerstown Board of Education.
Mrs. Arlene Mayhew has dedicated 21 years of service as a Newcomerstown Board of Education member. Mrs. Mayhew has been an avid supporter of Newcomerstown students, athletes and our staff.  During her time on the Board, Mrs. Mayhew remained steadfast in her decisions by defaulting to " doing what is best for our kids".  Doing what was best for kids was not cliche' to Mrs. Mayhew, she modeled that belief day and night for our student athletes through her personal attendance at numerous school events, both home and away.  Rainy football nights, snowy winter nights in the gym, spring track meets, or performing arts productions, Newcomerstown students and staff knew they would at some point be greeted with the warm welcoming smile of Mrs. Mayhew.  Her homemade post-game brownies, given to players after games, became a legendary “family like reward” for hard work - win or lose.
On behalf of the students, staff and Board of Education of Newcomerstown Schools, THANK YOU for your unwavering support during your 21 years of service!
