Teen Leadership finished up our DUDE BE NICE week in grand fashion today with our annual assembly. We honored 12 people with awards, heard an outstanding message from Jordan Miller, and gave away some gift cards to some lucky winners. Little acts of kindness can make a big impact on those around you, so remember, DUDE BE NICE!!!

Today and tomorrow are 9 Weeks exams at NHS. If students are in good standing with their teachers and attendance, they will be dismissed at 1:47 tomorrow. All other students will stay at NHS until 3:05. Friday is a regular school day. Call us with questions. Thanks and Go Trojans!

DUDE BE NICE WEEK = WAFFLE BREAKFAST!
Teen Leadership was up early this morning preparing and serving waffles to the students and staff at NHS. We prepared and made 30 pounds of waffle mix! Thanks to everyone that ate and a special thanks to Teen Leadership for getting up early to make a positive impact this morning!

To further our students’ college and career exploration, NHS sophomores and juniors spent their morning at the Canton Football Hall of Fame for hands-on career exploration and conversations. A few students walked out knowing the career path they want to follow, so this day was a big success! Respect. Excellence. Pride. Go Trojans!





Congrats to Audrie and Ethan! Audrie received a $500 scholarship for the Franklin B Walter Award. Ethan was recognized as NHS' Outstanding Senior! He also selected NHS Math teacher Tessa Moser as the educator who made a huge impact on his K12 career! Great job to our seniors and job well done, Mrs. Moser! Respect. Excellence. Pride. NHS welcomes presenters from Buckeye Career Center Adult Education and Kent State-Tusc this morning as Day 3 of College and Career Week continues! Thank you to our speakers, staff, and students for another great day exploring career options! Respect. Excellence. Pride. Go Trojans!




College and Career week continued yesterday at NHS with some excellent presentations from COTC, the University of Mount Union, Kent State University, and West Liberty University. They discussed admissions, campus life, and programs that are available. We also had the Newark JATC Electrical Apprenticeship that discussed opportunities in the electrical field. Allied and Provia HR Reps spent time with our students on what to expect in an interview.








It is March, so you know what that means???? It is Pop Tab Madness! Please consider helping the Newcomerstown Teen Leadership Class with this service project. ALL of the Pop Tabs that are donated will be given to the Ronald McDonald House! Every Tab Counts! The individual that brings in the most POUNDS of Pop Tabs will receive a $50 Texas Roadhouse Gift Card courtesy of Teen Leadership!

A huge Thank You to the NHS Teen Leadership Class for putting on an activity period yesterday for College and Career Week. Potato Sack Races, Hot Shot Basketball, Tug of War, Dodgeball, and Board Games and Cards in the Cafeteria! A great break from the awesome presentations that we had.




It is College and Career Week here at NHS! Thank you to Kirby Hasseman for a great keynote presentation yesterday afternoon, along with ALL of our other presenters from the breakout sessions in the morning including Salt Fork State Park, Chipico, Aleeah Cabot, and NHS graduates Ellie Foster and Jade Mason.




A reminder that all juniors must report to the high school this morning by 8:15 for the ACT test. All Buckeye, NHS, and PLP students must take the ACT. PLP and Buckeye students will be dismissed after the test is completed. Contact us with any questions. Thank you.

To all Buckeye, PLP, and NHS juniors: Tomorrow (2/25) is the ACT test. Juniors must report to NHS by 8:10. The test will take 3.5 hours. Buckeye and PLP students will be released after the test. NHS juniors will remain in school. This is a regular school day for all other grade levels. Call today with any questions.
