NMS Basketball Schedule
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, our NHS and NMSl winter sports athletes were introduced at Meet The Team. Goodluck to all of our Newcomerstown athletes, as their seasons begin! (Pictures are our NMS teams.)
Students have been busy in the NMS library! In addition to enjoying the wonderful world of books, students have been active in the art of puzzle building, having completed two this month alone. Congratulations to the students in the photos , who were the lucky ones to put the final pieces in their puzzles.
NMS BASKET RAFFLE
NMS Fall Portrait Retake Day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20th, starting at 8:15AM. This is for any student who was not present on the initial picture day or anyone who needs a retake due to their photo not turning out correctly. Flyers are available in our office with more purchasing information.
Attention boys basketball players in grades 5 & 6 . . .
Practices will begin Monday, November 18th, and will be held each Monday and Wednesday, beginning at 5:30 PM in the NMS Cafeteria, with coach Dustin Moore.

The 2024 Ruck Walk is under way this morning! THANK YOU to all who participated, and to all of the veterans for your service and sacrifice for our country! The Scarf Project ("NEED A SCARF, TAKE A SCARF") is set up here, right outside NMS! We moved the display this year to the corner of Goodrich and State Street, across from Chilly Willy's, hopefully making it easier to access. These items are FREE! Please, help yourself to scarves, hats, gloves, and/or some for each of your children! Know someone who would want or need one? Please... take one to them, if they are unable to get out currently. These are beautifully handmade with love, and YOURS for the taking. Don't be shy!! WARMING THE WORLD, ONE SCARF AT A TIME!

NMS 6th grade student Colton Durben participated in the Ohio Elks Association state soccer shoot in Norwalk, Ohio on Saturday, November 2, 2024, and he finished in 2nd place for the U14 age group! ⚽️ CONGRATULATIONS, COLTON!!!
Congratulations to these 6th grade students, who earned ice cream at lunch for being on the IXL and/or RTI Honor Roll for the 1st 9 Weeks! 🍦🤓👍 Great job, kids!
Everyone is invited to our winter concert on Thursday, December 12th, beginning at 7:30 PM, in the NMS auditorium. This will involve grades 6-12 for both the bands and choirs. We hope to see you there!

On Monday, October 21, 2024, two NMS students graciously donated their family's 3D printer to our school (Ms. McVey's Gateway class, in particular). The printer is a Flashforge Adventurer 3. It is most commonly used in the home as an entry-level printer, to begin learning 3d printing. 3D printing is a fun way to produce creative work, and in Gateway class, students are able to use this amazing technology to make their imaginations come to life. THANK YOU, JEFFREY AND KENNY MARTIN AND FAMILY FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
